A small statured, dry soil viburnum that takes some shade! Tends toward a round shape, making it excellent for shrubby borders. Often planted as a understory shrub in bright shade. Can be a fairly showy bloomer in higher light locations, and has fall berries that are an important food source for migrating birds. Hosts the hummingbird clearwing moth! May take slightly moist conditions in well drained sites, but high water tables and seasonal flooding should be avoided.
