Small Yellow Wild Indigo (Baptisia tinctoria)
A.k.a. rattleweed. A slow grower that is drought resistant once established. Prefers well drained soils in full sun. Tends to bloom later than other wild indigos, and its small flowers bloom in succession instead of in one spray. Slow to spread with fairly sparse foliage, this species plays well with other plants of similar height and is perfect for adding variety to shortgrass plantings.
