This Species is typically available during our Fall Sale Mid-September through Mid-October at Geist Nursery in Fishers, IN.

 

Estimated Height at Pickup: 2-3’, 3 gal

A.k.a. red osier dogwood. A dogwood oft planted decoratively for its red bark! New growth has the brightest color bark, so established plants may be trimmed to encourage new growth. Valuable for insect/pollinator support, and migration food for birds with drupes (berries) that are comparatively high in fat. Best planted in a cooler area with rich, consistently moist soil. Tolerates seasonal flooding, but DOES NOT tolerate hot and/or dry soil.
