A generally triennial plant that prefers poor soil, but will adapt to fertile soil with good drainage so long as other plants are not allowed to overgrow it. Deadheading encourages second or third rounds of blooms! Reseeds readily and grows quickly in open areas, so perfect for quick blooms and filling space while other plants mature.
