One of Indiana’s few native pines! White pines are evergreen with long needles and a naturally full form in full sun. Best grown in soil that lacks clay, vulnerable to drought.

Notable Wildlife Interactions: Hosts the eastern pine elfin butterfly, many moths including northern pine sphinx, a few beetles, weevils, and smaller insects. Squirrels, mice, and a variety of birds including rose breasted grosbeaks and wild turkey eat the seeds.
