This Species is typically available during our Spring Public Sale May-June at Geist Nursery in Fishers, IN.

A.k.a. orange coneflower*. AA showy Rudbeckia that stays comparatively short and can tolerate some dry conditions. Bloom period lasts for roughly a month in midsummer, but a second bloom can be encouraged with deadheading. Reasonably drought tolerant once established.

Notable Wildlife Interactions: Flowers attract bees, flies, small butterflies, and beetles. Hosts a few moths including the wavy lined emerald and blackberry looper moths. Commonly browsed by many mammals.

*Not an Echinacea, but some members of Rudbeckia are often called coneflowers. Petition for the common names to at least stick to genera. Orange coneflower is also often applied to Echinacea paradoxa, which NPU refers to as Ozark coneflower.
