A.k.a. tall white aster and white field aster. An aster that thrives in poorly drained soil, but tolerates seasonally dry conditions. Like all asters, it hosts a wide variety of insects and supports a wide variety of pollinators.

Leaves are browsed by game birds and a wide variety of mammals.
