A.k.a. stiff sunflower or prairie sunflower. Their showy, sunflower-like flowers are fragrant and bloom 1-2 months. Host plant of multiple butterflies, including the painted lady, and seeds are attractive to many birds! A fairly tall plant that can benefit for a late spring trim to curb overall height. Spreads vigorously from runners.
