A lovely, generally easy to grow plant that takes several years to reach its full potential. The flower’s unusual deep calyx and red color make them attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies.

Conservation of royal catchfly is a work in progress throughout most of it’s range. Currently listed as threatened in Indiana, and endangered in Illinois and Kentucky.
