A deer resistant species that supports a variety of pollinators, including hummingbirds! Like other figworts, its flowers aren’t showy but produce abundant nectar, making it a valuable food source for pollinators. Height varies greatly depending on growing conditions, with the tallest occurring in loose, rich, consistently moist loam with few neighboring plants. Prefers part sun/shade, but tolerates the lower end of full sun (~6-8hrs) in constantly moist soils. Reseeds freely in areas with little root competition.
