A.k.a. Canadian serviceberry, shadbush, and junebush. An adaptable serviceberry with good fall color and berries beloved by birds! As with all serviceberry, it has early spring blooming flowers and edible berries that mature in June. Adaptable, but prefers average, well drained soil. Flowers are lightly fragrant.

Berries are eaten by many birds including waxwings, thrushes, woodpeckers, and orioles, as well as mammals including mice, squirrels, chipmunks, and black bears. Regularly browsed by mammals.

Notes: An easy to cultivate juneberry, though berries are generally tasteless.
