A robust wild hydrangea with large, showy leaves and blooms! Blooms on old wood, prune immediately after flowering if desired. Prefers rich, moist, well drained soil in part shade. White flowers slowly darken to pink, then reddish, then brown, making for a long period of visual interest. Unlike many other hydrangea, oakleaf has reliably showy dark purple/red fall color.
