A.k.a. cylindrical blazing star. A short, early blooming blazing star that thrives in dry soils! Requires well drained soil and is extremely drought tolerant. Can tolerate some loam with good drainage, but may be outcompeted in fertile soils. Slow to establish from seed. Plants are sought after by herbivores and should be until they establish, at least.
