A.k.a. field mint and corn mint. The native mint most often used as an herb! Leaves can be used to flavor food and drinks, and the foliage’s strong minty smell and flavor deters rabbits. Flowers are small and often partly hidden by leaves, but well used by small pollinators. Like other mints, it spreads vigorously by rhizome and seed. Roots stay shallow and height can be easily controlled by trimming/harvesting, so it is an excellent candidate for container plantings!
