A.k.a. western oak fern and northern oak fern. A dainty spreading fern that can form a groundcover in ideal conditions! Prefers moist woodland conditions, but poorly drained soils should be avoided. Possible candidate for planting with ephemeral species due to its small stature. Dies back in the fall.
