A.k.a. Ozark witchhazel. A more southerly relative of the Common Witchhazel, this species blooms in the spring and has distinctive, rusty orange-red flowers! Prefers moist, slightly acidic, well drained soil. Suckers to form colonies. Tolerant of well drained clay and seasonal flooding, intolerant of drought.
