This Species is typically available during our Fall Sale Preorders in August, and/or the in-person Fall Sale Mid-September through Mid-October at Geist Nursery in Fishers, IN.

Tolerates part clay, but hardpan clay should be avoided.

Notable Wildlife Interactions: Flowers attract bees and flies. Hosts the gray hairstreak butterfly, moths such as the wavy-lined emerald, some leafhoppers and smaller insects. Generally avoided by mammalian herbivores.

Notes: Prune in early spring. Tolerates seasonal flooding. Reseeds readily on open ground.
