Purple Milkweed (Asclepias purpurascens)
Spring Plant
This Species is typically available during our Spring Public Sale May-June at Geist Nursery in Fishers, IN.
These adaptable milkweed sport darker flowers than most of their relatives, and are drought resistant once established! Though their foliage is similar to common milkweed with broad, rounded leaves, purple milkweed are slow both to establish and to spread. May eventually spread from seed and runners, but are unlikely to be vigorous about it. Transplanting should be avoided.
