This hardy small tree offers seeds with winter interest and bright fall color! Rapidly suckering habit makes it questionable for maintained plantings, but ideal to fill space after invasive removal, and for slope stabilization! Flowers are green, but female flowers may have a pink blush. Female flowers mature into showy red cluster of fruit that often persist into winter.

Notable Wildlife Interactions: Flowers attract bees, flies, wasps, and occasionally butterflies and beetles. Seeds are eaten by various game and songbirds including turkey, bobwhite, woodpeckers, and cardinals. Commonly browsed by deer and rabbits.
