A.k.a. smooth rose mallow. A lovely native hibiscus closely related to the better known swamp rose mallow. A wetland species, it can adapt to mesic soils but should not be allowed to dry out. Tolerates light shade, but flowers best in full sun. In optimal conditions, it will slowly form colonies by reseeding.
