A.k.a. American bellflower. A lovely blooming annual or biennial flower at home on the edge of woodlands or in bright understory. Does not tolerate deep shade. Seeds germinate well, so patches maintain themselves when allowed to reseed. Plants generally do not bloom their first year, and will put up tall bloom stalks in their second year.
