A.k.a. button or tall blazing star. Perhaps Indiana’s most wodespread blazing star (next to dense blazing star), rough blazing star is easy to grow in well drained soil. Prefers poor soils, and may need staked in fertile soil. Showy flowers generally bloom later than other blazing stars. Readily eaten by a variety of herbivores, so young and/or isolated plants may need protection.
