A.k.a. yellow poplar. Indiana's state tree for a reason, tulip trees are adaptable, fast growing, and can reach impressive sizes! Flowers are large and fairly showy, but trees grow so tall that fallen petals are noticed more often than whole flowers. Hosts some flashy Lepidoptera, such as the tiger swallowtail butterfly and promethea moth.
