A.k.a. Calico aster. A somewhat lanky aster with small flowers that bloom down the length of the upper branches. Generally considered better for woodlands and naturalized areas than showy garden beds, but is a cornerstone species for pollinators and host insects. Tolerates more sun in areas with sufficient moisture. Can be trimmed back early in the year to reduce overall height.
