This easy to grow aster relative has fuzzy foliage that give leaves a blue/grey appearance and dense flower heads. Hosts the American painted lady butterfly, and flowers are often used in dried arrangements. Because it needs dryer soils and can tolerate low nutrient (sandy, rocky) soils, it is often used for a border plant.
