A.k.a. rose vervain. This wild vervain has notably fragrant, phlox-like flowers and coarsely textured leaves! Their rolling blooms make for a long bloom period, and their short stature in dry soils make them useful as a border species. Creeps to forms attractive clumps as plants mature, but are best grown with other short species as they tend to die back in late summer after they bloom. Adaptable to soil type, but may be crowded out by taller and more aggressive plants in fertile soils.
