June Grass (Koeleria macrantha)
A shorter grass that is often planted for it’s spikes seed heads, and generally does not form dense stands. Puts on growth earlier than most prairie grasses, but generally dies back by fall. Adaptable to different soil types, but may be crowded out by more aggressive plants in fertile soils.
